How would you like to be in complete control of your life?

Living life in your own terms, not having to work for someone you probably hate, and not having to abide by company rules that just suck. You set your own schedule and decide when and where to do your work – while having all the money you need to buy the things you want.

Would you consider that a perfect life? I do!

I also know a lot of people who would kill for a life like that. Being your own boss is a lifestyle sought after by many. Just imagine being able to do what you love to do, when you want to do it, with people you like to do business with. You make the big decisions and you make the hard choices without needing to ask permission from anybody. You’re the boss, remember?

If you’re reading this, I have a good hunch you’re someone who dreams of becoming an entrepreneur – and enjoys the pleasures and luxuries that come along with being your own boss. No doubt about it, entrepreneurship is a great thing — I can vouch for that being in business myself for years now. I left the rat race a long time ago, and I have never looked back. I couldn’t be happier with the decision I made because I’m enjoying my life being my own boss.

But while your attention may all be focused on all the positive things of owning a business, there may be a few important things you might not be fully privy to yet.

Because there’s more to entrepreneurship than all the benefits and perks it offers. And most probably not all will like this “other side” – and you may not like to hear this part as well. But I tell you this, if you really have it inside of you, then you’ll totally welcome this – because you’re the type who won’t easily back down or get discouraged. You’ll continue moving forward, pursuing your dream of being your own boss, like I did!

So here’s the thing, and I want you listen very carefully.

Before you even get to enjoying all amazing things of running your own business – there’s still a journey you have to take. And let’s not kid ourselves, at least 90% have failed the journey and have gone back to their boring 9 to 5 jobs. Because the sad fact is that – along the way — you’ll endure a lot of pain, and I mean a whole lot of pain, headaches and frustrations. And this is difficult to deal with for most people.

Hey, it’s no easy road, that’s why many quit! Otherwise, 100% of the dreamers out there would have already become millionaires.

But nope, not happening!

It’s real tough, and it gets tougher as you continue moving forward – that’s just the truth.

You see, all the expensive cars the rich people drive, the fancy restaurants they go to, the castle-like houses they own, the nice suits they wear, and everything else you see the rich enjoying – that’s when all the smoke and all the chaos have already settled.

But way before all that, and what lies hidden from most people, especially from those who have dared to dream of being their own boss are the long hours of hard work, battles with self-doubt, trust issues with partners, financial headaches, negotiation woes and every business challenge out there you could think of – you’ll eventually encounter them as you trudge the path of entrepreneurship.

That’s reality: what most people don’t see is the hard work required, the grit, the hustle, the constant learning needed, the crazy amount of thinking, the intense self-discipline to see one’s work through to the end, the sacrifices one makes in exchange for a taste of success, the heartbreaks and strained relationships – and the many failures that come your way before the elusive success finally settles on your lap.
It won’t be a walk in the park, but if you keep at it and keep on hustling – you’ll eventually get there.

There’s a reason why only a very few reach the top, the pinnacle of success.
Because frankly, not every person who aspires to be in business is cut out for what entrepreneurship entails. Not everybody has discovered yet the power inside them to make things happen. So this begs the question: “Do you have it in you to become your own boss?”
And let me ask you as well: “Is it just the fancy lifestyle you’re after, the money, or the fame?”

If you chose any one of these, or all of these — that’s fine because who wouldn’t want all this, right? But the point I’m driving at is that it would also be a huge help if there’s something much deeper that drives you to becoming your own boss.

The deep stuff: Relevance. Meaning. Purpose. Passion. Calling.

Why? Because they set your inner compass that will guide you in your journey. So whether everything is going as planned, or when everything seems to be going wrong – you’ll know what to do, and you’ll never ever give up!

When you’ve set your compass right, when you’ve set your mindset correctly, and when you have an extremely compelling motive – when you have complete clarity about yourself, your ambitions and your dreams, then you’ll most likely charge through whatever challenges come your way. You’ll find a way to succeed – no excuses.

I tell you, you must be really relentless, immensely driven to successfully tread the path of entrepreneurship, you must be crazy obsessed about it!

You must feel the passion burning inside you, and ruthless in executing your plans. You should have a strong belief in yourself, and have total faith in your capability to make things happen. You must be willing to take risks, and do unconventional things that normal people are not ready to do.

Why do I say all this?

Because ultimately it’s your attitude that determines your altitude — and it’s your traits that will make a big difference come crunch time.

So keep these in mind, and think about what you really want in your life.
